Job description

Meeting & Events Co-ordinator

Monday-Friday (occasional evenings & weekends) | 37.5 hours a week, between 8am-6pm

£12.60 per hour

We are currently recruiting a driven Meeting & Events Co-ordinator to provide first-class service at the Engine Rooms, Birchwood Park, on a full-time basis, contracted to 37.5 hours per week.

The Engine Rooms offers a unique and inviting space to meet, work, dine, and relax. It is an ideal venue for hosting meetings and events, complemented by our food hall serving a variety of freshly made street food, pizza, salads, and great Starbucks coffee.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team.

Experience is essential for this role. You should be proficient in MS Office and CRM programs, confident in client interactions via phone, email, and in person, able to manage multiple workloads under pressure, possess strong attention to detail, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to establish and nurture strong relationships is also important.

Key duties include:

  1. Maximising meeting room and delegate revenue through relationship building, sales conversion, and delivering exceptional customer service.
  2. Responding promptly to telephone, desk, and email enquiries in line with brand standards and turnaround times.
  3. Developing client relationships through knowledgeable enquiry handling and effective team communication.
  4. Understanding and exceeding client needs by providing tailored event packages, including upselling F&B and ancillary services, to drive revenue.
  5. Conducting venue show-rounds and providing professional customer service to facilitate swift conversion.
  6. Seeking client feedback post-event to encourage repeat sales.
  7. Preparing accurate function sheets, coordinating with the operations team, and providing updates to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  8. Delivering exceptional customer service aligned with the 'Expect More' philosophy, aiming to exceed customer expectations at every touchpoint.
  9. Covering the reception area when required.
  10. Performing general administrative duties to support business objectives and assist the Sales & Events Manager.

We seek confident individuals with personality, who are excited about driving sales. Previous experience in a similar role within the meetings, events, or hospitality sector is essential. You should understand what it takes to deliver outstanding service, going above and beyond to ensure customers have an exceptional experience.
