Job description

Meeting & Events Co-ordinator

Monday-Friday (occasional evenings & weekends) | 37.5 hours a week, between 8am-6pm

£12.60 per hour

We are currently recruiting for a driven Meeting & Events Co-ordinator to provide first-class service for the Engine Rooms at Birchwood Park on a full-time basis, contracted to 37.5 hours per week.

The Engine Rooms offers a unique and inviting place to meet, work, dine, and relax. It is the perfect venue to host meetings and events of any occasion, alongside our food hall, which offers an ever-changing menu of freshly made street food, pizza, and salads. We also serve great Starbucks coffee!

We are now looking for an enthusiastic person to join our friendly team.

Experience is essential for this role. You should be proficient in using MS Office and CRM programs, confident in interacting with clients via phone, email, and in person. The ability to work well under pressure, managing multiple workloads, with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, is required. You should also be skilled in establishing and nurturing strong relationships.

Key duties include:

  1. Maximising meeting room and delegate revenue through effective relationship building, sales conversion, and delivering exceptional customer service.
  2. Managing and converting reactive sales activities, including responding to telephone, desk, and email enquiries promptly and professionally.
  3. Developing client relationships through knowledgeable enquiry handling and effective team communication.
  4. Understanding and exceeding client needs by providing timely and tailored event packages, including upselling F&B and ancillary services.
  5. Conducting venue show-rounds and providing professional customer service to facilitate swift conversion.
  6. Seeking client feedback post-event to facilitate future repeat sales.
  7. Compiling accurate function sheets, distributing weekly updates, and coordinating with the operations team to ensure customer satisfaction and drive repeat business.
  8. Delivering exceptional customer service aligned with the ‘Expect More’ philosophy, aiming to exceed customer expectations at every touchpoint.
  9. Covering the reception area when necessary.
  10. Performing general administrative duties to support the Sales & Events Manager and achieve business objectives.

You should understand what it takes to deliver outstanding service and be committed to exceeding customer expectations to ensure they get the most from their experience with us.
