Person Specification
Qualifications
- Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians or equivalent
- Professional registration with the GPhC
Experience
- Regular patient contact
- Experience working in a busy pharmacy department in primary or secondary care
Desirable Experience
- Experience in a hospital pharmacy department
- Experience using JAC pharmacy computer system
- Experience of ward-based working
- Experience working in an Aseptic Unit
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Ability to work methodically and accurately
- Ability to analyze and interpret prescriptions, identify problems, and decide on appropriate actions
- Basic computer literacy and keyboard skills
- Neat, numerate
Knowledge
- Understanding of pharmacy law, ethics, roles, and responsibilities
- Knowledge of delivering quality care and providing a safe, efficient service
- Desirable: Knowledge of aseptic working, medicines optimisation, and legal aspects of final accuracy checking
