Medicines Optimisation Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Department at Lynfield Mount Hospital are looking for an experienced Medicines Optimisation Pharmacy Technician to join their busy team. The role will involve providing medicines optimisation for Mental Health Services in order to improve the quality of care provided to service users with regards to their medicines at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job
  • Dispensing and issuing various types of prescriptions, including accuracy checking of prescriptions before they are supplied to wards/teams and outpatients
  • Working as a team to supply stock and non-stock items to inpatient areas and off-site areas including community clinics
  • Visiting wards to facilitate medicines reconciliation for new admissions
  • Assisting with the clozapine related activities in order to delivery of a high-quality service to service users attending Clozapine Clinic at Lynfield Mount Hospital and at Meridian House
  • Providing advice to service users and carers in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Supporting the Tobacco Dependency and Treatment service as a trained advisor

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • NVQ3 in Pharmacy Services or BTEC equivalent level qualification
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Evidence of regular Continuing Professional Development
  • Possession of Accredited Checking technician qualification
Experience
  • Experience as working as a Medicines Management Technician
  • Mentoring of junior staff
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of Medicines Management
  • Knowledge regarding clozapine and its physical health impact.
