Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust invites applications for a Medicines Optimisation Dietitian to work across Sutton Health and Care Adult Dietetic Service. You will improve nutritional prescribing, collaborate with GP practices, care homes and other professionals, and support NHS resource use through evidence-based practices.

The role includes supervising dietetic students, contributing to education, and working with an experienced colleague on a part-time basis to deliver

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or post graduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics (HCPC registered).
• HCPC registration is required.
• Experience in nutrition support and recommending prescribing of oral nutrition supplements.
• Ability to work in partnership with other professionals across settings.
• Experience in policy, procedures, guidelines and clinical standards development.
• Experience of undertaking clinical audit and evaluation.
• High level of negotiation and influencing skills.
• Highly developed presentation skills.
• Advanced skills in assessment and treatment of clients with nutritional conditions.
• Ability to work as a team member and promote multidisciplinary working.

Responsabilités

• Lead initiatives to improve quality, safety and cost-effectiveness of ONS and nutrition-related prescribing.
• Collaborate with GP practices, care homes, pharmacists and other professionals to optimise prescribing.
• Review patients prescribed nutritional products and make evidence-based recommendations.
• Deliver training and education to GPs, practice nurses, pharmacists and care home staff on malnutrition and prescribing.
• Act as expert source of advice on nutrition support and medicines optimisation.
• Analyse prescribing activity, undertake audits and produce reports on outcomes and cost savings.
• Develop, review and implement local guidelines, policies, pathways and patient information resources.
• Support the wider Dietetic Service through training, supervision and quality improvement initiatives.
