Job summary

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a qualified and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join the medicines management team at the Maudsley Hospital. The post holder will support the safe, effective, and timely supply of medicines to patients and end users across the Maudsley Hospital, including some dispensary services.

You will hold NVQ Level 3 in pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent and be an accredited checking technician, with education and training support provided.

Qualifications

• Registered pharmacy technician with NVQ Level 3 in pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent.
• Accredited Checking Technician status preferred, applications from those working towards accreditation encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Participate in pharmaceutical care initiatives to ensure safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medicines.
• Provide safe, timely, cost-effective pharmaceutical services for patients and staff.
• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians, Assistant Technical Officers and Pre Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians (PTPT).
• Assist in ensuring key processes and procedures are in place and followed.
• Deliver high-quality, technician-led dispensary services and support ward-based care with clinical pharmacists.
