Job summary

Oakham Medical Practice and Market Overton & Somerby Surgeries is seeking a dedicated Medicines Management Administrator to join our team. You will support prescribing processes and medication-related workflows across the practice, working closely with GPs, clinical pharmacists, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• Previous administrative experience in a healthcare, NHS, GP practice, or similar office environment.
• Experience of working with computerised systems.
• Experience of handling confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
• Experience of dealing with patients, healthcare professionals, or members of the public.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for all medication requests, in accordance with Practice protocol, and redirect as appropriate.
• Ensure all prescription requests are processed within a 48-hour timeframe.
• Actively encourage patients to reconcile medications to facilitate monthly collections.
• Record and report adverse effects, informing the Clinical Lead immediately.
• Work with the Admin Team to manage medication related recalls.
• Support Pharmacists and Medicines Management Team as required.
• With the Team Leader, support in applying pharmacy and medicines management rotas to SystmOne.
• With the Team Leader, be involved in the induction of new non-clinical members of the Patient Services Team regarding medicines management.
• Undertake any other reasonable additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Managers.
