Job summary

CVS Vets in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced RVN to step into a Medicine Team Leader role, staying hands-on in a fast-paced hospital environment. You will collaborate with 8 clinicians, 3 residents and interns, and lead a team of 4 RVNs to deliver gold-standard patient care.

This leadership position includes a £500 CPD budget, a full induction, access to 17,000 hours of internal CPD, five weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays, and wellbeing support.

Responsibilities

• Supporting a varied medicine caseload, including gastrointestinal endoscopy, rhinoscopy, joint taps and foreign body removals.
• Working alongside our 8 clinicians, 3 residents and interns to help each day run smoothly and efficiently.
• Taking ownership of the medicine room, equipment organisation and SOP upkeep, helping the service stay safe, efficient and well prepared.
• Overseeing daily and monthly maintenance of specialist equipment, including multiple gastroscopes, rigid scopes and biopsy equipment.
• Leading and supporting a team of 4 RVNs through regular check-ins, 1-2-1s, coaching and day-to-day guidance.
• Contributing to monthly Team Leader meetings and Clinical Governance meetings, helping shape improvements across the hospital.
• Providing training and encouragement for junior colleagues as they grow in confidence and clinical skills.
• Collaborating with the Oncology team when needed, giving you variety and exposure across services.
• Working closely with the Wards and Anaesthesia teams to provide additional support where needed.

Medicine Team Leader RVN

Are you an experienced RVN ready to take the next step into leadership, while remaining hands‑on in a fast‑paced clinical environment? This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary specialist hospital with a nursing team of over 50 RVNs, where your skills, ideas and leadership will be truly valued.

As Medicine Team Leader, you will play a key role in the smooth running of our hospital, working closely with fellow Team Leaders and Head Nurses to support our teams to develop our team and working daily with the specialist medicine nurses to continue delivering gold‑standard patient care.
