A leading healthcare trust is seeking a Medication Safety Officer to enhance patient safety in medication practices. The successful candidate will provide expertise on medication safety, support compliance with regulations, and lead initiatives to reduce medication errors across the Trust. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on patient care.
Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a pharmacist or nurse to be the Medication Safety Officer for the Trust who will be an expert in medication safety and plan, manage and deliver medicines safety initiatives and improvements across the Trust centred around the patient. This will be a job-share with the current Medication Safety Officer Pharmacist.
Main duties of the jobProvide expert advice on medication safety to ensure that processes throughout the Trust are safe, effective and legal and are supported by up to date policies, procedures, protocols and training.
Application of systems thinking and thematic analysis to extract learning from medication incidents and develop corrective and preventative actions in line with PSIRF principles
To promote a culture of safety in relation to medicines
and to ensure that medication safety is at the forefront of clinical practice
