What you’ll do:
  • Understand the science and product strategies related to projects using various resources
  • Conduct research and review literature to support projects and expand understanding of the marketplace
  • Appreciate the commercial context and assimilate relevant information
  • Align written work with brand strategic objectives
  • Follow ABPI code of conduct under guidance and training
  • Structure and write documents such as manuscripts, posters, abstracts, slide decks, websites, training programs, and reports
  • Use therapy knowledge to ensure communication objectives are met
  • Adapt writing style for different audiences under supervision
  • Manage and own assigned projects
  • Maintain quality control through proofreading and review
  • Communicate therapy area knowledge to the team
  • Liaise with clients confidently, with support from senior team members
  • Contribute to proposals and pitches, and present research findings
  • Participate in briefing, prioritize workload, and communicate effectively about project status
  • Support team development by sharing insights and seeking feedback
  • Adhere to project schedules, budgets, and briefs
  • Complete timesheets and expense claims accurately and timely
  • Engage with industry developments and trends, reflecting these in work

What you should have:
  • Experience in medical writing, preferably in an agency
  • Relevant degree (preferably Master’s) in a science subject
  • Strong scientific background and ability to learn new therapeutic areas quickly
  • Understanding of clinical trials, data presentation, and drug approval processes
  • Knowledge of measurement scales in trials (e.g., RECIST, EDSS)
  • Enthusiasm for learning, attention to detail, and clear, concise writing style
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a professional presence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially PowerPoint
