An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Medical International Training Fellow to join their Anaesthetic Department. Applications are invited for this full time Medical International Training Fellow (STR3+ Equivalent). This will be part of the MTI Scheme via the RCoA and AoMRC.
A candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties of a whole-time post will receive equal consideration. If such a candidate is appointed, the job content will be modified as appropriate in consultation with consultant colleagues and local management.

The duties of the post will be to provide anaesthetic services as timetabled by the Anaesthetic Department. This includes both pre-operative assessment of patients and ongoing post-operative anaesthetic support of patients in Recovery Ward and beyond. At least one third of the theatre allocation will be in designated subspecialty training and supervised by a Consultant to an appropriate level. There are four separate on call rotas for trainees who work a full shift system with internal cover. Thus at any one time there are trainees allocated to emergency theatre work, obstetric anaesthesia, and intensive care with a more senior ST-Trainee to supervise and augment the above three. Consultant advice and/or presence are available at all times.
The theatre times and shift times are as follows:
Out of hours cover will usually include holding an emergency bleep. Anaesthetists are called for Cardiac, Obstetric and Trauma Emergencies for all ages of patients and they are expected to respond in an appropriate manner.
The daytime clinical work will comprise of sessions consisting of routine or emergency surgical lists, maternity cover and intensive care work (according to rota experience).
