Summary
This position is eligible for a hiring bonus!
Well-qualified candidates with less than 2 years of experience are eligible to receive a $7,500 sign-on bonus! Candidates with more than 2 years of experience are eligible for a $15,000 sign-on bonus. This bonus will be prorated for Part Time or Per Diem positions. Relocation assistance of up to $10,000 (based on final wage) and temporary housing are available if needed. Please note, this bonus is not available to current MaineHealth employees or those who have been separated for less than 6 months.
Our lab is a highly complex, fast-moving Blood Bank servicing a level 1 trauma center, large oncology, cardiac, OB, and neonatal divisions, and Barbara Bush Children's Hospital. We have a great team and are a reference lab for all other MaineHealth system hospitals. Culturally, it's a growing area with great recreation and food options!
Position Details:
This is a Night Shift position.
The Medical Technologist is responsible for independently performing and monitoring laboratory testing of patient specimens. This includes confirming, interpreting, correlating, and reporting normal and abnormal results, recognizing technical, instrumental, and physiological problems, and initiating resolutions. The role also involves ensuring accuracy, quality control, and instrument maintenance.
