Job summary

Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in Wesley Chapel, FL, seeks an experienced Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily operations of the clinical laboratory from day one. You will lead a team of medical laboratory scientists and technicians, coordinate tests across hematology, microbiology, chemistry, transfusion, and molecular diagnostics, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

• Bachelor's Degree in medical laboratory science or related field; substitutions allowed.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.

Full-time, Day shift shift, 7am-3:30pm

Will be responisible for Point of Care (POC). Position will be located in Wesley Chapel but will require travel to other sites as needed (primarily St Petersburg)

Position Summary

Oversees the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of testing and analysis, and serving as a team lead to the laboratory team. Performs complex laboratory tests, maintaining quality control, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborates with healthcare professionals to provide critical data that supports patient care and treatment decisions.

• Coordinates daily laboratory activities and delegates tasks to ensure efficient workflow.
• Performs and oversees a wide range of laboratory tests, including hematology, microbiology, immunology, chemistry, transfusion activities, and molecular diagnostics.
• Analyzes and interprets complex test results, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
• Implements and monitors quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
• Oversees the operation and maintenance of sophisticated laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Prepares detailed reports and communicates findings to healthcare providers.
• Provides technical guidance and support to laboratory staff and trainees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or a related field (Required) One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience or one year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
• Minimum 5 Years of Experience in a clinical laboratory setting (Required)
• Candidates must meet minimum educational requirements for state-applicable certification and/or licensure: Florida: Associates degree in medical laboratory technology, or related field in conjunction with Fl State Licensure as Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Bachelors (Required)
• Certification as Medical Technologist (MT, MLS) from ASCP or other approved agency. For candidates practicing in state of Florida: Clinical Laboratory Supervisor License in the area(s) of responsibility from the State of Florida is required Upon Hire (Required)

Salary Range: Minimum 37.07/hour - Maximum 59.32/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
