Job summary

2gether Support Solutions, a Facilities and Estates services company supporting East Kent NHS hospitals, is recruiting a Buyer (Medical and Surgical) for the William Harvey Hospital. The role is full-time and permanent, working Monday to Friday in the Procurement Department.

You will raise orders and contracts, support a category of spend, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure value for money, compliance and cost savings while driving procurement excellence across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Contracting/procurement management experience with willingness to work towards specialised knowledge through training and development opportunities.
• Strong negotiation and project management skills.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to influence.
• Knowledge of e-procurement systems, desirable in a healthcare environment.
• Competent use/knowledge of MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for all transactional procurement processes by providing quotations, tender and contracting management services and manage routine operational and administrative tasks.
• Work closely with colleagues in the Procurement department to ensure best practice, value for money, risk minimisation and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Support organising regular meetings with key stakeholders to improve communication and coordination of procurement activities with management information as required.
• Monitor contract compliance, analyse data and identify priority areas for cost savings and process improvements.
• Evaluate quotes, lower value tenders and product switching opportunities to identify best value options for the Organisation.
