We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Medical Support Secretary to support the delivery of services within our department.

To provide a comprehensive administrative service to the Consultant, GP Trainees and Clinicians at GM Uni Student MH Service.

Excellent communication, organisational skills as well as good spelling and grammar and secretarial abilities are essential preferable with admin background.

Main duties of the job

You will be a well organised and experienced secretary with knowledge of medical terminology preferable with admin background.

The successful candidate will work alongside Senior Administrator to provide efficient and high quality administrative and clerical support to Consultant, Clinicians, Managers and their teams, while working in close cooperation with all staff groups and other medical professionals.

Duties will include audio typing, minuting of team meeting, typing of medical and other correspondence, actioning any requirements identified in minutes/typing, appointments bookings, along with coordinating clinical/admin activities for GM Uni Student MH Service.

The post holder must have extremely good computer and communication skills, as well as being a team player and have an ability to use their own initiative. Audio typing experience is essential for this role as well as advanced knowledge/previous use of MS Office.

Person specification

Education / Qualifications

  • Relevant level 3 competency-based qualification (such as RSA or NVQ), 2 years previous office experience or equal demonstrative experience.

Experience

  • Use of VDU.

Other Requirements

  • There is an occasional requirement to travel across the wide footprint of the Trust to attend meetings and events relevant to the role.

The Trust mandates all post holders who require a DBS for their role to subscribe to the DBS Update Service. You will be required to enrol for this service for a fee of £16 per year and maintain registration throughout your employment with GMMH.
