Job description

Responsible for 24 hours medical staffing cover for Trauma & Orthopaedics and out of hours cover for related disciplines participating in the Orthopaedic rota in line with the New Deal and European Working Time Directives for Resident Doctors hours, including the booking of Locum and organising payments for the same.

Management

Management of sickness for all medical staff including back to work interviews.

Line Management

Line Management for Medical Staffing Co‑ordinator (Admin and Clerical).

HR Responsibilities

Responsible for annual/sickness/grievance and first‑line HR responsibilities.

Medical Staff
  • Responsible for the preparation, compilation, production, distribution and ongoing management of a range of Consultant, STR, CT, F2 rotas, dealing with all queries regarding rotas/on‑call. Monitor on a daily basis to ensure adequate levels of cover.
Finance
  • Strategically and operationally manage locums effectively and economically and authorise all locum timesheets and payments.
  • Provide accountant with up‑to‑date information on a monthly basis regarding the use of locum cover, additional duty hours worked, completing bank staffing payment sheets and ACAS forms for Aintree and Lead Employer staff, matching costs to panel forms that have been submitted ensuring no inappropriate charges are made to the Directorate.
Recruitment
  • In partnership with Clinical Director and Head Of Operations and Performance and College Tutor, update job descriptions and timetables for junior medical staff.
  • In partnership with Clinical Director produce new job descriptions for Consultants/Staff Grade/Clinical Fellow posts. Complete Vacancy Control forms and Change Notices for posts to be advertised. Liaise with HR for interview arrangements in role of Recruiting Manager.
  • To support the Clinical Director, Head of Operations in the implementation of all medical staffing issues.
