A regional healthcare provider in Winchester seeks an enthusiastic Medical Staffing Advisor to join their busy department. The successful candidate will provide HR services for Postgraduate Doctors in Training, manage rotations, and advise on related policies. Essential skills include strong interpersonal abilities, multitasking, and attention to detail, with a flexible approach required across multiple sites. This role is central to delivering excellent service to medical staff and trainees.
This role is only open to applicants who currently work within an NHS Trust within the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System (HIOW ICS).
We require an enthusiastic individual to work with the Medical Staffing Team in a busy department.
You will provide a proactive medical HR service for Postgraduate Doctors in Training, managing rotational processes and advising on all aspects of the Terms & Conditions of Service for Doctors and Dentists in Training, as well as Trust policies. You will guide medical staff, rota coordinators, and operational managers on the correct interpretation of these policies.
Your responsibilities will include ensuring timely and accurate data entry into the electronic staff record system, liaising with payroll to ensure timely payments, and providing an efficient service.
Essential skills include good interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask, work to deadlines, and attention to detail. A flexible approach is required, including working across both Basingstoke and Winchester sites.
The Medical Staffing Advisor will offer high-quality specialist advice to all Medical trainees and clinical leads/educators within the Trust, working closely with NHS England Wessex on training rotations for HHFT.
You will maintain standards aligned with Trust and NHS England Wessex policies, guided by NHS Employers' Code of Practice, and provide a reliable, well-informed service to trainees and managers. You will interpret Resident Doctor Terms and Conditions, practices, and procedures, especially where understanding may be challenging and sensitivity is required.
This role involves supporting Resident Doctors from onboarding through to termination, handling a wide range of tasks and systems in an organized manner, while managing competing demands. You will be the first point of contact for queries and requests, assisting colleagues during absences, and delivering a timely, accurate, and customer-focused service.
