Job description

Medical Secretary – University of Bristol (Student’s Health Service)

The role

Join our team of 8 medical secretaries, where you'll play a vital role in providing essential secretarial and administrative support to a dedicated team of GPs and Mental Health Nurses. You'll also provide a high-quality administration and secretarial service to the Students' Health Service, assisting with administrative functions and supporting the smooth running of the surgery.

What will you be doing?

  1. Producing correspondence to support the referral of patients to secondary and tertiary care settings.
  2. Handling incoming telephone calls into the General Office.
  3. Dealing with patient enquiries in person, via telephone or email including the provision of test result information.
  4. Coordinating incoming and outgoing information flows between the clinical team and a range of external stakeholders which include secondary care and tertiary staff, University welfare services and patients and their families.

You should apply if

  1. You have fast accurate typing and are confident using a range of IT systems.
  2. You have strong organisational skills and good attention to detail.
  3. You are able to work under pressure.
