Medical Secretary - Respiratory Medicine

Provides secretarial support to the Respiratory Medicine Department and members of the multi-disciplinary team to assist in the smooth, efficient, and effective running of the service. Assists in organizing the Respiratory Consultants' workload. Acts as a point of contact for patients and carers, providing information on hospital systems and processes, including appointment and admission details, to resolve queries satisfactorily. Establishes communication networks within the team and with other healthcare professionals. Works closely with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality service to the department, utilizing strong secretarial, clerical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Maintains positive working relationships with consultants, team members, managers, and support staff (e.g., Central Appointments, radiology). Communicates tactfully and politely with patients, carers, and staff through verbal and written exchanges. Handles telephone, face-to-face, and enquiry interactions efficiently and appropriately.
