Job overview

The Trust has committed to the development of Advanced Practice roles through its workforce plan, and is now seeking to appoint a Professional Lead for Advanced Clinical Practitioners to provide leadership and development for these roles.

You will be an existing ACP and will undertake the role for a maximum 3-year term of office, working 15 hours as a Lead alongside your existing clinical role. On completion of your 3-year term, you will hand over the Lead duty and return to your substantive employment as an advanced practitioner.

You will need to ensure you have the support of your manager to undertake the Lead role alongside your primary assignment.

Main duties of the job

In the Lead role, you will work alongside senior clinical stakeholders to ensure that appropriate frameworks for practice, clinical governance, competency assessment, continuing education, and appraisal are in place for the development of both trainee and qualified ACPs.

You will also play a key lead role in the strategic development and evaluation of advanced practice across the local integrated care system and proactively influence regional and national priorities related to the ACP workforce.

More broadly, you will work alongside Trust senior leadership to guide and support transformation of the workforce, developing the ACP workforce to meet service needs.
