Job Opportunity: Medical Secretary in Ophthalmology

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, calm, and methodical team player to become a medical secretary within the Ophthalmology SBU. The role involves providing essential administrative support, including audio/digital typing of clinic letters and correspondence, maintaining the consultant’s diary, and coordinating appointments and meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Typing and correspondence management on behalf of clinical teams.
  2. Maintaining diaries and arranging clinical and non-clinical meetings.
  3. Providing reception and secretarial services to the Ophthalmology team.
  4. Working autonomously and as part of a team to deliver efficient administrative support.
  5. Ensuring procedures and working practices meet set standards and targets.
  6. Delivering a patient-focused service with courtesy and efficiency.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, email management, and electronic diary use.
