About us

Medici Medical Practice provides a range of primary medical services to approximately 18,000 patients in central Luton. It is a training practice which provides support and mentorship to doctors training to be GPs.

Job responsibilities

Secretarial Duties:

  • Audio and copy typing of medical letters, referral forms, and other correspondence.
  • Process referrals via e-RS (electronic Referral System) or other referral platforms.
  • Maintain accurate records of correspondence, ensuring timely dispatch and follow-up.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail related to clinical matters.

Administrative Support:

  • Maintain patient records and ensure proper filing of clinical documents.
  • Liaise with hospitals, consultants, and community services regarding patient appointments and results.
  • Manage and prioritise incoming tasks and correspondence from clinicians.
  • Track and chase up outstanding referrals, test results, and letters.
  • Other administrative tasks as they arise.
  • Respond to patient queries regarding referrals and medical correspondence in a professional manner.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information in accordance with data protection regulations.

Team and Practice Support:

  • Work closely with the reception and admin team to ensure seamless communication.
  • Attend team meetings and training as required.
  • Assist with general administrative duties to support the smooth operation of the practice.
