A dedicated practice in Hailsham is seeking a Medical Secretary to join their team. This role involves providing secretarial and administrative support to GPs and the clinical team, ensuring accurate documentation and effective communication with healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a GP setting, well-versed in using Emis, and possess strong communication skills.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Medical Secretary to join our friendly practice team. The candidate should have experience using Emis (clinical system), a good knowledge of medical terminology, and experience working as a Medical Secretary within the NHS. The candidate must be accurate, possess good communication skills, be a team player, and able to work flexibly in the absence of colleagues. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Salary will be based on experience.

Main purpose of job: To provide efficient and confidential secretarial and administrative support to GPs and the clinical team, including handling referrals, typing correspondence, liaising with patients and external organizations, audio typing, and ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
Responsible to: This essential role involves providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support, including sending referrals via eRS and email, formatting letters and reports, dealing with hospital, clinical, patient, and practice queries, following up GPs' requests, and maintaining the computer-based clinic system securely. Assist with statistics gathering and maintain an accurate referrals database.
