Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Medical Secretary to join our Rheumatology Team at North Devon District Hospital. The applicant should be organised, a team player with the ability to prioritise their own workloads with a willingness to cross cover colleagues in the department during periods of annual leave or sickness. The role is varied and attention to detail is important when checking and sending correspondence.

About the Role

The post holder will have a range of secretarial and administrative experience, ideally in a Healthcare environment; however, we welcome applicants from other sectors who feel they have relevant transferable skills. Working in a busy and sometimes demanding role as part of the Rheumatology administration team, supporting the Consultants, Doctors and Nurses to run an efficient service. We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and work unsupervised. The role requires someone who is efficient and pays attention to detail and takes pride in their work. The post holder will need to be empathetic and have a good telephone manner.

Working Pattern: The applicant will be required to work three days per week which can be discussed at interview.
