Job description

We are looking for a part-time secretary (24 hours) working Tuesday-Friday to support our excellent secretarial team. This role will also include administration support for our reception team. Secretarial experience is preferred.

Our surgery operates Monday-Friday 8-6pm.

Main duties of the job

Typing of letters via Lexacom, Choose & Book referrals, chasing referrals, photocopying of notes, retrieve medical records and assist in completion of medical/insurance records, dealing with tasks from GP.

We are looking for an experienced secretary to join our excellent team. We work in a friendly enviroment with an excellent patient focused ethos.

Job responsibilities

To provide an efficient audio, copy typing and word processing service for GP's and health professionals as required. This includes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals and minutes in an accurate and quality manner.

To deal with and action tasks and messages sent from clinicians.

To assist the practice manager and reception team with clerical and administrative duties.

To establish and maintain a filling and administrative system so that written or computer information is easily accessible and secure.

To retrieve medical records and assist the completion of medical/insurance records.

To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to communicate with colleges and patients, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.

To maintain the computer clinical system in an accurate and secure manner.

To provide occasional cover for members of the reception team during periods of sickness and annual leave.

In liaison with other members of the team, maintain adequate supplies of office stationery in order to perform your duties.

To receive and dispatch mail and maintain a pending system.
