Job description

Medical Science Liaison

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a crucial field-based role within the UK Novocure team. This position involves building and nurturing relationships within the medical and scientific communities, providing healthcare professionals with medical and scientific information about the company's products and research, and supporting the use of Tumour Treating Fields (TTFields) therapy for patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Increase awareness of TTFields therapy among healthcare professionals (HCPs) in Neuro-Oncology and other relevant areas.
• Manage territory and field-based activities.
• Educate healthcare providers on Novocure products and disease awareness, including certification of new centers.
• Facilitate investigator-sponsored trials.
• Provide feedback and competitive intelligence to the company regarding therapeutic areas and Novocure products.
• Attend and cover assigned medical meetings and organize advisory boards.
• Advance the scientific understanding of TTFields.
• Support TTFields therapy through medical communications, scientific support for promotional activities, and other related medical activities, including studies, training, and providing medical information.
• Develop and maintain relationships with national experts and medical professionals in Oncology, particularly in the area of brain tumors (e.g., Gliomas) and other tumor types as needed.
• Deliver scientific presentations to HCPs and decision-makers.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures, local, and international regulations.

Profile:

• A high scientific or medical degree (PhD or Medical Doctor, GMC-registered) is required.
• At least 2 years of experience as an MSL or in a similar role in the UK.
• Experience in Oncology is essential.
• In-depth knowledge of the NHS system in the UK is required.
• Previous experience in the medical devices or pharmaceutical/biotech industry is necessary.
• Ability to articulate scientific concepts and data clearly.
• A strategic, proactive, and passionate self-starter.
• Ability to work well in both large and small teams, and remotely.
• Willingness to travel 80-85% of the time.
• Comfortable with occasional after-hours and weekend availability.
• Focused on collaborating with HCPs to bring expertise and innovation.
