Job summary

SRG is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Oncology (Solid Tumours) on a 12-month contract in the UK. The role focuses on scientific exchange, education with physicians and HCPs, and collaboration with Medical Affairs to support strategy and plans.

The ideal candidate holds an advanced degree (MD/PhD advantageous) and has an interest or experience in Oncology, with strong cross-functional relationship skills and regulatory awareness.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Medicine, Science, Pharmacy or related field.
• Experience in a field-facing or Medical Affairs role is desirable.
• Prior knowledge of Oncology is advantageous.
• Ability to build strong relationships cross-functionally to enable high performance.
• Knowledge of ABPI and Medical Affairs regulatory codes.

Responsibilities

• Interact with KOLs/thought leaders across the UK on scientific needs in the therapeutic area.
• Provide credible scientific exchange or education programmes to physicians and other HCPs.
• Assist Med Managers/Medical Advisors with strategy and tactical plan development.
• Maintain knowledge of the therapeutic area, current treatments, competitors and new developments.
• Deliver credible presentations on scientific matters to physicians in meetings or sessions.
• Identify thought leaders for potential collaborations or advisory roles.

Medical Science Liaison - Oncology
Job Type: Temporary
Location/Territory: Midlands
Duration: 12 months (initial)
Rate (Inside IR35): Up to £31.30 per hour (PAYE)

SRG are working with a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry who due to an internal promotion are looking for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for a 12 month contract. This role focuses within Oncology (Solid Tumours) and is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to move into a field-facing role within Medical Affairs.

Main Responsibilities include:

• Interact on behalf of the Medical Affairs team with KOLs/thought leaders across the UK concerning their needs for scientific knowledge in chosen therapeutic area
• Provide quality scientific exchange or education programmes on scientific matters to physicians and other relevant HCPs
• Assisting the Med Managers, Medical Advisors with business/clinical strategy and tactical plan development
• Maintaining business & medical knowledge of chosen therapeutic area, including current treatment strategies, current and pending competitors, plus new therapeutic developments
• Deliver credible presentations on scientific matters to physicians, individually or in groups (meetings, clinical sessions, etc.), where requested
• Identify thought leaders to engage in collaborative efforts such as potential research collaborations, or educational and advisory roles (Advisory Boards, Congresses, Symposia, etc.)

Skills/experience required:

• Advanced Degree in Medicine, Science, Pharmacy or similar (MD, PhD advantageous but not essential)
• Prior experience in a field-facing role would be ideal but is not essential
• Prior knowledge and experience within Oncology would be advantageous
• Ability to build strong relationships with peers and operate well cross-functionally with partners outside of team to enable higher performance
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing Medical Affairs incl. ABPI and other related Codes of Practice
• Possess a keen interest in developing and maintaining expert knowledge for assigned Disease area/product(s) and in medical research in general
