Job Title: Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Gastroenterology/Hepatology (Midlands, England)

About the Company: Our client is a prominent biopharmaceutical company focused on pioneering treatments in gastroenterology, hepatology, and diabetology. Their mission is to enhance patient outcomes by delivering innovative therapies while fostering scientific relationships with healthcare professionals and researchers.

About the Role: We are looking for a motivated and experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join the Medical Affairs team in the Midlands, England. The MSL will be a key scientific resource, engaging with healthcare professionals (HCPs), key opinion leaders (KOLs), and other stakeholders to provide scientific insights and support the launch and ongoing success of the company’s asset.

Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with KOLs, HCPs, and scientific leaders in the gastroenterology, hepatology, or diabetology therapeutic areas.
  • Provide scientific and clinical support to both internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring the accurate and effective dissemination of medical and product-related information.
  • Serve as an expert in the relevant therapeutic areas, sharing the latest scientific and medical insights.
  • Lead scientific presentations and discussions at medical meetings, advisory boards, and conferences.
  • Gather and analyze insights from HCPs to inform internal strategy and contribute to better patient care.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Medical Affairs, Commercial, Regulatory, and Market Access, to ensure alignment on scientific and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure all activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
  • Provide support for advisory boards and other key scientific forums, gathering insights and contributing to strategy development.
Qualifications:
  • Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience as an MSL is necessary.
  • Experience or expertise in gastroenterology, hepatology, or diabetology is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech company is essential.
  • Strong experience in engaging with HCPs, KOLs, and scientific communities.
  • Ability to effectively interpret and communicate complex scientific data.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel regionally within the Midlands and attend relevant medical congresses and meetings.

Location: This is a field-based position based in the Midlands, England, with regional travel required.
