Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our small but enthusiastic Medical Rostering Team based at Catford.

As part of our team, you would provide first-line support to system users, liaise with Roster Managers and Rota Coordinators to support the Resident Doctors' rotations, and support the e-Rostering rollout to our consultants and SAS Doctors.

You should be competent in rota management and have previous experience working with an e-Rostering system, preferably RLDatix Optima. A working knowledge of Resident Doctors' contractual terms and conditions and the consultants' Job Planning process is also required.

The successful candidate should have strong interpersonal skills to establish good working relationships with system users, senior managers, and senior medical staff, as well as colleagues and peers. You should be a team player, able to collaborate effectively to meet team objectives and deadlines. Effective communication, workload prioritization, enthusiasm for technology, and openness to new ways of working are essential. Proficiency in MS Office and Office 365 is also required.

The role involves supporting the Medics Business As Usual function by providing advice, support, and technical expertise to system users at all levels.

  1. Participate in improving and maximizing the utilization of the e-Rostering system, providing training and support to rota coordinators and managers.
  2. Manage Resident Doctors' rotations, check rota patterns for compliance, and advise on best practices.
  3. Analyze complex medical rotas and transfer them to the e-Rostering system, creating necessary shift groups, locations, demand templates, and patterns.
  4. Build medical staff records on the e-Rostering system, calculate and add annual leave and study leave entitlements, maintaining high accuracy.
  5. Support the implementation and maintenance of consultants' job plans on the system, including rostering of programmed activities.
  6. Manage the interface between eRota, eJP, and Optima for uploading compliant rotas and job plans.
  7. Create and update user login accounts for all system users.
