Job summary

Fletchers Solicitors is seeking a Medical Records Specialist to join the Medical Law Services team in Southport. You will manage requests for medical records, process incoming bundles, and instruct cases for pagination, acting as the point of contact for Trusts/GP surgeries and legal teams.

The role covers 35 hours per week, with initial office-based work and a hybrid arrangement after induction. You will help ensure GDPR compliance, maintain secure records, and support timely progression of

Responsibilities

• Request medical records from medical suppliers in line with subject access requests.
• Complete file reviews to establish the current status of cases and take appropriate action.
• Review medical records to ensure completeness and GDPR compliance.
• Update the Case Management System with all completed work and accurately record time.
• Chase and liaise with medical suppliers to drive timely receipt of records and progress cases.
• Action emails from solicitors and medical suppliers promptly and professionally.
• Download medical records from emails and CDs and process them according to documented procedures.
• Ensure all records are uploaded and stored securely in line with data handling policies.
• Maintain accurate logs of requests, follow-ups, and completed actions.
• Escalate issues or delays to relevant stakeholders when necessary.
• Adhere to all SLAs and departmental performance standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve queries and ensure smooth workflow.
• Identify and report discrepancies or missing information in records.

Medical Records Specialist

Salary: £24,479

Location: Southport (Initially Office based - Hybrid once Induction is passed)

Hours: 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm

Medical Law Services part of Fletchers Group have a fantastic opportunity to join our growing Team.

As a team member within the Medical Records Team, you will provide support to the legal teams within Fletchers Group, requesting medical records, processing incoming medical records bundles, and instructing cases for pagination. You will be a point of contact for the legal teams and the various Trusts/GP surgeries from whom records are requested.
