Job description

Are you looking for a new opportunity to develop your skills?

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as part-time medical receptionists / administrators. Our reception team work between 8-8pm.

Ideally we would like cover for the following shifts available;

  • 10 - 18:30 on a Friday
  • 10 - 18:30 on a Friday
  • 8 - 18:00 on a Thursday
  • 10-18:30 on a Thursday

All applicants will be expected to cover a share of extended hours until 8pm and at least one Saturday per year.

  • Manage reception duties, including greeting visitors and answering phone calls
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and scheduling appointments
  • Provide excellent customer service in a busy and dynamic environment
  • Assist with other office duties as needed

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

Front Desk:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Manage the check-in and check-out process efficiently.
  • Ensure the reception area is tidy and presentable.

Telephone Management:

  • Answer and direct phone calls promptly and efficiently.
  • Address inquiries and provide accurate information.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain patient records and update information as required.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed.

Customer Service:

  • Address patient concerns and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Provide compassionate support to patients and their families.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to convey information clearly and concisely.

Professionalism:

  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Handle stressful situations with calm and composure.

Compassion:

  • Demonstrate empathy and understanding towards patients.

  • Experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage.

Job responsibilities

General administrative duties are required;answering calls and booking appointments, dealing with patient queries, registering patients, sending emails, scanningcorrespondence, booking hospital transport and liaising with other healthcareprofessionals.

Qualifications
  • Good general education including GCSE passes in Maths and English or equivalent
  • NVQ in Customer Service or Administration
Experience
  • NHS experience, ideally as a medical receptionist in General Practice

  • Flexible approach with hours of work, being able to cover additional shifts as required.

  • Good IT skills, understanding of Microsoft Office applications such as - word, excel etc.
