A leading healthcare organization in London is seeking a part-time receptionist/administrator to join their friendly team. The role involves patient interaction, appointment scheduling, and administrative support using clinical systems like EMIS. The ideal candidate is flexible, has excellent communication skills, and can adapt quickly to the requirements of the role.
We are offering a part-time receptionist/administrator, to join our small friendly team.
In order to be successful, you must be a good team player with excellent communication skills both face to face and over the telephone, as well as being able to work under pressure and having the ability to multitask.You will need to be able to start as close to 1st of August or sooner.
We require someone who is flexible as the position will involve morning shifts (8:00am) and/or late evenings (8:00pm), as well as someone who is willing to cover holidays.
The practice uses EMIS web as the clinical system, so it is preferable that you have had experience in using this tool or you are computer literate and can adapt to different software systems efficiently.
Reception
Welcoming patients and visitors, answering calls, emails and online consultations, ensuring needs are met
Booking appointments appropriately via EMIS, directing them to the correct clinician
Assisting patients with medical reports, dealing with cash payments and completing request within the given time frame
Printing and handing out forms for patients to take to different clinics e.g. Blood test and x-ray forms
Supporting patients with specimen pots and forms, making sure the date and time are on both forms and sample
Registering new patients and recording clinical information, such as blood pressure readings and weight for monitoring purposes
Keeping reception area tidy, replacing any empty items
Comforting distressing patients, handling with difficult needs
Recalling patients for vital appointments, such as diabetes reviews, meeting the requirements for QOF
Scanning and Filing in documents via Docman10 into patients records
Ordering items (clinical and admin) when low
Liaising with other medical departments, such as radiologists or psychologists with professionalism and discretion
Completing all mandatory training for quality purposes
Active involvement in enhanced service, CQC and quality related work
Opening the premises and securing at night, when required
Be flexible to cover colleagues in their absence including short notice cover for sickness. This may result in longer working hours (reimbursement for agreed additional hours worked will be made)
Museum Practice is part of the North Central London ClinicalCommissioning Group, aiming to provide the best quality care to our patientswithin the Camden area. The practice has an overall good CQC score and supportsstaff with the highest level of training.
We are situated opposite the British Museum, close to localamenities. The practice has a small friendly team with two female partner GPsand salaried GPs. The practice is a teaching practice, currently with tworegistrars (qualified doctors gaining general practice experience).

Completing tasks set by clinicians on workflow.
Ordering items (clinical and admin) when low, ensuring there is a sufficient stock.
Dealing with requests for home visits and recording them on their record.
Chasing up appointments and results from hospitals either via phone or email
Liaising with other medical departments, such as radiologists or psychologists with professionalism and discretion
Ordering ambulances for patients and clinicians, both routinely and in an emergency
Completing all mandatory training for quality purposes

Active involvement in enhanced service, CQC and quality related work.

Dealing with problems and queries from the doctors, other staff, attached staff and other organisations.
Following and adhering to Practice admin protocols.
