A healthcare practice is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join their friendly team. The role involves greeting patients, managing calls, and supporting clinical operations. Experience in a patient-facing role is preferred. Full training will be provided, and the position offers £12.30 to £12.60 per hour along with NHS Pension and generous leave benefits.
John Tasker House Surgery is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and approachable Reception team. The post is up to full time across Monday to Friday. The position would suit someone with experience of working as a receptionist and who would like to join a friendly patient-focussed team.
The role of Receptionist is an essential one which can be both challenging and rewarding. It involves helping patients to access the right services, assist with keeping health records accurate and up-to-date and ensure that patients are aware of all new innovations e.g. NHS App and Pharmacy First. As part of your induction and onboarding, care navigation training would be arranged for you to help you in your role. Knowledge of the accuRx messaging service and SystmOne clinical system would be advantageous. However, full training would be provided for the chosen candidate.
The practice has a main surgery in the centre of Dunmow and a branch surgery in nearby Felsted. Our core opening hours are 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Fridays. Additionally, the practice is open for extended access appointments on some evenings and some Saturdays.

Main duties and responsibilities:
-Greeting patients at the reception desk
-Answering calls from patients and responding to accuRx messages
-Booking appointments into the clinical system
-Providing support to our administrative teams e.g. performing workflow or document management tasks
-Supporting the GP triage team with administrative duties.
Full training will be provided to the successful candidate including Care navigation training.
