Rother House Medical Centre is a well established practice located in the heart of Stratford Upon Avon that strives for excellence in patient care.

The practice is looking for a full or part time Medical Receptionist. Experience working in a practice is advantageous however it is not essential. Full on the job training will be provided.

Main duties of the job

Duties will include:

  • Meeting and greeting patients and visitors,
  • Booking appointments and taking general enquiries by telephone and face to face
  • Completing/ following up on tasks sent by the clinician.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholder to provide patient care

Job Purpose

To provide high-quality administrative and patient support as part of the reception and admin team at Rother House Medical Centre. This role ensures smooth communication between patients, clinical staff, hospitals, and other healthcare providers, while maintaining confidentiality and excellent customer service.

This role ensures smooth communication between patients, clinical staff, hospitals, and other healthcare providers, while maintaining confidentiality and excellent customer service.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Patient Interaction & Enquiries:

      • Deal with a wide range of patient requests, including making appointments, handling medication or referral queries, and responding to general enquiries.

      • Interact with patients both in person at the reception desk and over the phone in a professional and courteous manner.

      • Ensure requests are accurately recorded and directed to the appropriate team member when necessary.

    • Communication with Secondary and Private Care:

      • Respond to emails from hospitals and private providers, actioning any required follow-ups such as booking appointments or sharing relevant information with clinicians.

    • Referrals & Administrative Support:

      • Assist in preparing and sending referrals to local NHS and community services.

      • Print letters, test results, or other documents as required, and ensure they are passed on to the appropriate person (patients, clinicians, or external services).

    • Clinical Team Support:

      • Help support clinicians by following up on tasks such as booking appointments, providing additional patient information, or liaising with external services to obtain updates.

      • Maintain accurate records of any actions taken and ensure timely completion of tasks.
