Job summary

A healthcare organization in Liverpool is seeking a receptionist who will assist and direct patients while providing general administrative support to the practice team. Job description
Overview

Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.

Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the Practice team.

Main duties
Reception
  • Receiving patients consulting with members of Practice team
  • Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address
  • Taking messages and passing on information
  • Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary
Appointments
  • Process appointment requests for today and future appointments from patients by telephone and in person
  • Deal with visit requests
Computer
  • Registrations of new patients computer data entry and medical records
  • Process patients change of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of Practice area)
  • Process repeat prescription requests in accordance with Practice guidelines
  • Scanning into clinical system
  • Choose & Book
  • Summarising medical records within identified timescales
  • Periodically checking the fax to make sure it is operational and has an adequate paper supply before leaving in the evening
About us

Overview of your organisation

We are a small and friendly surgery with two GP Partners, as well as regular sessional GPs, ANP, PN, Pharmacists, Physiotherapist, Mental health practitioner, GP Registrars working at the practice.
