Medical Receptionist

Wake Green Surgery are looking for a friendly, cheerful and enthusiastic person to join their busy reception team. You will be the first point of contact for the surgery and your professionalism will be of the utmost importance.

Your role will include:

1. Meeting and greeting patients and visitors
2. Answering the telephone

Main duties of the job

The candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate empathetically with patients, being able to listen and reassure calmly.

At peak times, the candidate should be able to deal with patients calmly and efficiently, ensuring patients do not feel rushed.

Methodical working is essential.

About us

We are a busy teaching practice in Moseley. We have 8 doctors and a nursing team of 3. The practice hosts associated clinical services i.e. social prescribing and substance misuse. We provide a full range of in-house services including Minor Surgery and Umbrella Services.

We aim to deliver the highest standard of care by building strong working relationships with our patients, their families, carers, and the wider community. We will provide safe, effective, patient-centred services which are responsive and considerate.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths

Experience

• Working within a reception team
• Working within a primary care environment
• Working within a GP practice
