A reputable health centre is seeking a receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients. You will be responsible for booking appointments, managing patient queries, and performing administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical reception and will work well in a team-oriented environment, ensuring the smooth operation of the practice.

Job description

As a receptionist, you are often the first person patients meet.

You will:

  • Book patients in for their appointments
  • Enter patient details onto the computer system
  • Direct patients within the health centre
  • Answer telephone calls, sometimes directing calls to other staff members through the phone system
  • Book and triage appointments by telephone
  • Answer queries from patients and staff
Main duties of the job
  • Dealing with telephone enquiries
  • Booking and amending patient appointments in line with practice procedures to ensure optimal efficiency
  • Electronically filing documents
  • Dealing with medication requests
  • Copying and recording medical notes

Other duties include filing, chasing up patient results and reports, photocopying, and word processing.
