About the Job

We offer a generalist Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) position with interesting and varied work across all areas of Core Laboratory, including some phlebotomy. Kootenay Lake Hospital (KLH) has 28 funded acute care beds and provides laboratory and radiology services, urgent care, chemotherapy, outpatient ambulatory care, community services, long-term residential care, and doctors’ offices.

Typical duties include performing routine and complex tests using manual procedures and automated instruments, greeting patients, collecting and/or receiving specimens, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS), validating and reporting test results, maintaining instruments, preparing solutions and control agents, and performing ECG testing as required. While bone marrow collection assistance is provided at this site, sample analysis is performed elsewhere. MLTs work scheduled day and evening shifts, with participation in the on-call schedule required.

This is a Permanent Part-Time (0.83 FTE) opportunity.
