Job summary

Transformation Unit in Wolverhampton is seeking an NHS histopathology support assistant to join a busy laboratory team. You will assist qualified Biomedical Scientists, handle tissue samples, and ensure data entry accuracy in accordance with SOPs.

You must hold GCSE Maths and English or NVQ and have laboratory and NHS experience. The role requires flexibility to rotate across sections and follow health and safety policies.

Qualifications

Job description

To be an efficient and flexible member of the Histopathology laboratory team providing a high quality diagnostic service through supporting the scientific and technical activities of qualified members of staff.

To work within the written Policies and Procedures of the Department especially in relation to Health & Safety and Quality.

Main duties of the job

To participate in the routine duties of the Histopathology Department, as part of a team, under the direction and supervision of Biomedical Scientists (BMS 1 and above) ensuring compliance with Departmental Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

To rotate through assigned sections of the laboratory as required.
