Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) invites applications for a part-time Medical Laboratory Assistant at the Central Specimen Reception on the Oxford Road Campus. The role runs 22.5 hours per week, with shifts from 15:30 to 20:00, and may involve multi-site duties across Trafford General, Wythenshawe, North Manchester General and Oxford Road Campus.

Ideal candidates will have GCSEs and strong communication, attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsabilités

• Unpack, label and register specimens at the Specimen Reception.
• Operate pre- and post-analytic equipment as part of the workflow.

We have an exciting opportunities within Central Specimen Reception at our Oxford Road Campus within the Division of Laboratory Medicine.

Do you have good verbal and written communication skills, good attention to detail and work well in a team? An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a Medical Laboratory Assistant.

Specimen Reception accommodation is at Oxford Road Campus, site of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). Please note this is a part- time post - 22.5 hours per week, between the hours of 15:30pm to 20:00pm (multi-site working which includes Trafford General, Wythenshawe, North Manchester General and Oxford Road Campus) 24/7 rota)

The department runs a state-of-the-art automated blood track, to support the Trust's leading laboratories. The team you'll be joining provides a quality service unpacking, labelling, registering specimens a well as using pre- and post-analytic equipment.

The post offers a great opportunity to gain laboratory experience in Blood Sciences, in a stimulating environment with support from a highly experienced and committed team of professionals. CSR provides a 24/7 service and the post will be rostered for shifts to support this. You will also be expected to work at other MFT Specimen Receptions when required.

A good standard of education (to GCSE level or equivalent) is necessary as are good keyboard skills. You should be flexible, methodical and organised with good communication skills. Full in-service training will be provided.

You will be supported throughout with regular reviews of progress to develop appropriate knowledge and skills to enable personal development.
