As a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Laboratory Technician, duties include performing laboratory tests, interpreting results, documenting, and reporting results. Maintains department equipment, instruments, and tools.

Education

  • Bachelor's in medical technology or Biology/Chemical Science
  • Associate's degree in Medical Technology

Certification/Licensure

  • ASCP or AMT certification
  • Eligible for certification

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility with the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads. It serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.
