Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston is seekinga motivated, customer-focusedFront Desk Representativeto join our healthcare team. This position plays a key role in creating a positive first impression for our patients while ensuring smooth, efficient front office operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced environmentThis person would be scheduled to work in our Falmouth office with travel to Sandwich location as needed. Schedule is Monday through Friday; 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and register patients promptly and courteously upon arrival.
  • Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Possess working knowledge of a variety ofinsurance plans and coverages; determine eligibility and coverage for services.
  • Collectco-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balancesat check-in and check-out.
  • Assist patients withpast due balances, explaining payment options and processing transactions.
  • Schedule patient and diagnostic appointmentsaccurately and efficiently formultiple physicians, coordinating with internal departments.
  • Follow up on appointments to minimize no-shows and maximize productivity.
  • Address patient inquiries in person with professionalism and care.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and management to ensure optimal patient flow.
  • Take initiative in solving problems and escalating issues when needed.
  • Contribute to a positive office culture bydemonstrating leadership and a willingness to take on challenges.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A High School Degree or GED.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of medical or health care related setting or equivalent in a customer service, front desk/receptionist position.
  • Proven experience with insurance verifications and patient billing.
  • Must have a working knowledge of computer and respect for confidentiality.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, paying close attention to detail.
  • Epic experience a plus.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
