A healthcare service provider is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician for its Department of Medical Physics and Bio-Engineering at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. The role involves maintaining and repairing medical equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and requires an OND or equivalent in electronics or medical engineering. Good interpersonal skills and a flexible approach are essential, and candidates must hold a full valid driving license. This position doesn't provide sponsorship for visa requirements.

Applications are invited for the post of Medical Equipment Technician in the Department of Medical Physics and Bio-Engineering at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.
The appointee, supported by the section's Clinical Engineers, Technologists and Administrative staff, will be responsible for maintenance and repair of a wide range of medical equipment. This includes fault‑finding, repairing breakdowns, performing scheduled preventive maintenance, safety checks, assisting with the investigation of medical equipment related incidents and problem solving in the clinical environment.
The post requires technical OND or equivalent qualification in an electronics or medical engineering discipline, and experience of working within an electronic servicing role. Alternatively, trainee appointments, under Annex 21, will also be considered for candidates with relevant experience.
Posts with Annex 21 applied receive a percentage of the fully qualified rate. For periods of training lasting between one and four years, pay will be adjusted as follows:
We are looking for applicants who are self-motivated and able to work effectively within a team to ensure the day-to-day running of the service. Good interpersonal skills are essential, as is a flexible and methodical approach to the required tasks. This post also involves travelling and working at various hospitals, health centres, and medical practices throughout NHS Highland.
Candidates must hold a full valid driving licence.
