Overview

University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship this role. We are seeking to recruit a permanent engineer to support the existing teams working within Clinical Technology.

The department of Clinical Technology provides a comprehensive medical equipment management and maintenance service to the University Hospital of North Midlands (UHNM) and external healthcare bodies. Based at both the Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital sites, the department consists of multidisciplinary teams of medical engineers, including renal, general medical, imaging, critical care and medical gasses, which provide medical equipment maintenance and support to services across the organisation and to other local healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical equipment maintenance and support to clinical teams across UHNM and external healthcare bodies.
• Be involved with a rapidly expanding service delivering essential technical support to clinical teams while ensuring best value from the significant investment in medical equipment taking place within UHNM.

Qualifications and requirements

• Qualified to a minimum of HNC level, or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject
• Hold a valid full UK manual driving licence
• Applicants who do not have the relevant experience/qualifications may still apply and be considered for appointment as a Trainee Clinical Technologist. Training and development will be given to achieve practitioner level.
