Job summary

NHS Golden Jubilee University National Hospital in Scotland is seeking an exceptional governance leader to join the senior team and help shape the future direction of the organisation. You will lead the Corporate Governance and Corporate Administration function, providing strategic leadership and expert advice to ensure robust governance and public accountability.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Transformation and Strategy, you will work with the Board Chair and senior leaders to deliver

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of corporate governance principles, public sector accountability and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience advising Boards, committees and senior executives on complex governance matters.
• Strong understanding of NHS Scotland policy, legislation and governance requirements.
• Exceptional report-writing, communication and presentation skills.
• The ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Excellent negotiation, facilitation and strategic planning skills.
• Resilience, sound judgement and the ability to balance competing priorities within a politically and operationally complex environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead our Corporate Governance and Corporate Administration function, providing strategic leadership and expert advice on governance and organisational accountability.
• Advise the Board and senior leaders on governance and organisational accountability.
• Develop and improve the Board's governance framework, ensuring compliance with legislation and NHS Scotland guidance.
• Oversee delivery of Board and Committee business and corporate administration services.
• Contribute to the strategic development of the organisation in a complex healthcare environment.
• Serve as a trusted adviser to senior leaders to ensure transparent decision-making.
