Medical Director – Oncology Innovation & Pipeline Strategy

Location: Paddington, London

Industry: Specialty Biopharmaceuticals

Full-Time | Permanent | Hybrid (60% Onsite)

We are working closely with a global biopharmaceutical company to recruit a Medical Director within their oncology strategy group. This role supports the evaluation of mid-to-late stage external assets and contributes to the advancement of their therapeutic area strategy, with a specific focus on pre-launch readiness and Medical Affairs integration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Serve as the medical/scientific referent in evaluations of oncology assets across the pipeline.
2. Lead the creation of Target Product Profiles (TPPs) and contribute to asset due diligence.
3. Collaborate cross-functionally across R&D, Innovation, Medical Affairs, and Commercial.
4. Conduct deep scientific analysis and disease area landscaping.
5. Support early commercialization strategy and Medical Affairs planning.
6. Present findings and strategic insights to internal leadership and deal boards.

Candidate Profile

1. PhD preferred; MD acceptable.
2. Strong Medical Affairs experience with a focus on pre-launch activities.
3. Expertise in oncology – both solid and liquid tumour backgrounds welcomed.
4. Track record of delivering in cross-functional, strategic roles.
5. Experience with external asset evaluation or BD is a plus.
6. Confident communicator with senior stakeholder presentation skills.
