Job summary

Priory Hospital Kemple View seeks a Medical Director to provide strategic clinical leadership across the site and oversee governance, quality and medical workforce management. Responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership to the medical workforce and strategic direction across the site.
• Champion clinical excellence, governance and a positive culture.
• Oversee medical workforce management, including rotas, leave, recruitment and cover.
• Lead on clinical governance, quality improvement and regulatory inspections (CQC).
• Mentor medical colleagues through supervision and CPD development planning.
• Collaborate with the Hospital Director to drive service improvement and priorities.
• Lead on complex clinical matters and ensure safe, evidence-based care.
• Support service development and organisational change across the hospital.

Salary: GBP 180,000 per annum, plus a GBP 10,000 stipend

Priory Hospital Kemple View has an opportunity for a Medical Director to join our team.

Located in Blackburn, Lancashire, Priory Hospital Kemple View is a 90-bedded hospital, offering level 2 rehabilitation, and secure services, for adult males. We can support people with a mental health condition and/or a personality disorder.

What you'll be doing

You'll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn't involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.

• Provide professional leadership to the medical workforce and strategic direction across the site.
• Champion clinical excellence, effective governance and a positive, supportive culture.
• Oversee medical workforce management, including appraisals, rotas, annual leave, recruitment and clinical cover.
• Lead on clinical governance, quality improvement and regulatory compliance, including CQC inspections.
• Support and develop medical colleagues through supervision, mentoring, CPD and development planning.
• Work closely with the Hospital Director and wider Senior Management Team to drive service improvement and strategic priorities.
• Provide leadership on complex clinical matters and contribute to the delivery of safe, evidence-based patient care.
• Support organisational change, innovation and service development across the hospital.
