Qualifications

  • Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in the Speciality.
  • GMC Specialist Register.

Responsibilities

  • Liaising between nurses, clinicians, patients, and relatives.
  • Attending and participating in board rounds and ward rounds.
  • Providing appropriate workplace supervision as needed.

Job description

We are looking to recruit suitably qualified doctors to work across specialties for work ranging from a single shift to an extended post, with evening, weekend and on-call shifts available (depending on shift availability). Areas of specialties we are currently looking to support with our medical Bank include: ED Medicine, Paediatrics, T&O, O&G, General Surgery, Haematology, Hepatology, Gastroenterology and Geriatric Medicine.

Responsibilities include:

  • liaising between nurses, other clinicians, patients, relatives in order to support safe care
  • attending and participating in board rounds, ward rounds and other related daily activities
  • providing appropriate workplace supervision to other staff as and when needed as requested
  • maintaining high standards of professionalism, especially in relation to documentation
  • arriving on time for the booked shift and being available for work from the arranged start time
  • attending local induction as appropriate when working in new areas
  • complying with Trust policies, including upholding the trust's values and behaviours

Requirements:

  • NHS Experience (working in acute hospital within the last 12 months as a Consultant)
  • evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in the Speciality
  • commitment to own continuous medical education
  • ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
  • MBBS or Equivalent
  • Full GMC Registration
  • evidence of completion of specialist training or equivalent
