Apply locations Brighton, MA time type Full time posted on Posted Yesterday job requisition id 39464 The Medical Assistant will provide essential clinical and administrative support to the Womens Health Service team.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  1. Works closely with providers to assist in delivering world-class care to patients.
  2. Triage all incoming messages appropriately using our current electronic platform.
  3. Provides direct communication to patients.
  4. Rooms patients and prepares the patient for the provider visit.
  5. Takes vital signs as necessary.
  6. Accurately records patient information in Electronic Medical Records systems.
  7. Obtains required consents, completes required forms as needed for specific visit types.
  8. Performs office testing as needed. Required to perform controls on certain in-office tests.
  9. Chaperones Providers as required.
  10. Assists with procedures as needed.
  11. Stocks rooms and monitors expiration of supplies in exam rooms.
  12. Assists with incoming calls as needed by answering, triaging, and routing telephone calls appropriately.
  13. Registers patients in EMR and verifies information including demographics and obtains accurate health insurance information. Conduct eligibility checks to ensure insurance is reflected accurately.
  14. Schedules patients' appointments and appropriate testing for patients as directed.
  15. Follows scheduling rules and directs schedules patient visits in other practices.
  16. Performs pre-visit planning daily for all upcoming scheduled appointments.
  17. Performs outreach to select patient groups as directed for patient care and quality and schedules specialty appointments and testing as required.
  18. Responsible for informing manager of all clinical or administrative supply needs or assisting with ordering.
  19. Responsible for obtaining prior authorizations and/or insurance referrals as per practice need.

EDUCATION:
