Job summary

Core Physicians, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clerical, clinical and business functions under supervision. The role offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus and a standard weekday schedule with opportunities for growth and education.

Responsibilities include pre-visit work, vital signs, vaccines, patient communication, and routine clerical duties. CMA/CCMA certification and BLS are required or obtainable within six months.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• CMA/RMA/CCMA certification/registration required or within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties such as pre-visit work, obtaining vital signs, medication reconciliation, and assisting providers with examinations and/or procedures.
• Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization; ensure exam rooms are cleaned and stocked.
• Respond to patient portal messages on the same day per standard work procedures and messaging policy.
• Use standing protocols to complete pre-visit work, close gaps in care, administer vaccines, and complete prescription refills.
• May schedule pre-admission and diagnostic testing and place follow-up calls to patients after surgery.
• Greet, check-in/out patients, schedule appointments, answer phones, take messages, organize charts and records, collect co-pays and balances, and perform daily journals.
• Maintain Core Physicians policies and collaborate with the care team to ensure proper communication and patient confidentiality.
• In some practices, may perform scribing duties; document encounters and assist with labs, referrals, and prescriptions.
• Monitor care team metrics to evaluate improvement and outcomes.
• Provide coverage for other Core Offices as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
